명탐정코난 OST ‘Hello Mr. My Yesterday’ 보컬 마현권, 더크로스 곡 ‘난장이가 쏘아올린 작은 공’ 리메이크 발매
J&M Entertainment, led by CEO Lee Ji-ho, announced the release of a remake of the classic song 'A Little Ball Launched by a Dwarf' by The Cross at 6 PM on the 7th.
The song is inspired by the late author Cho Se-hee's novel of the same name, capturing the lives of the socially marginalized and disadvantaged.
The remake features vocalist and vocal trainer Ma Hyun-kwon, known for his work on various albums and drama & movie OSTs, including AshGray's 'Marriage' and Moida Band's 'Chocolate Drive.' He gained recognition for singing the 10th theme song 'Hello Mr. My Yesterday' for the anime 'Detective Conan.'
Ma Hyun-kwon's warm and dramatic vocals are complemented by the voice of his student and newcomer, Lee Ji-ho, creating a fresh emotional experience.
The song tells the story of people striving to maintain hope amidst poverty, discrimination, and oppression. Through the symbolic character of the dwarf, it portrays the courage, dreams, and pain of seemingly small and fragile individuals confronting a vast social structure, according to the agency.
The song also encourages listeners to reflect on societal issues and conveys a message of working together for a better world, evoking empathy and responsibility.
Newcomer Lee Ji-ho, who majored in classical singing, faced vocal challenges due to a rare disease during his debut preparation but has now presented his first project after years of effort.
Lee Ji-ho stated, "The message of this song, which I poured my passion into for about seven months, holds a special meaning connected to my situation. Despite the harsh realities, I hope this song can offer a glimmer of hope to those who are hurting."
The arrangement was handled by composer Kim Young-jae, known for his work on Lee Chan-won's 'Will You Go With Me,' Kim Hee-jae's 'Only You,' and the OST 'Like a Star' for the JTBC drama 'Reborn Rich.'
The orchestral performance by Yung Strings enhances the grandeur of the song, with mixing by engineer Choi Jong-ho.
The remake of 'A Little Ball Launched by a Dwarf' was released at 6 PM on the 7th and is available on major music platforms worldwide.
