Selena Gomez Opens Up About Bipolar Disorder Journey on Podcast with Husband Benny Blanco

Hollywood superstar Selena Gomez recently shared insights into her battle with bipolar disorder, capturing public attention.

According to reports on October 4th, Gomez appeared on the podcast 'Friends Keep Secrets' alongside her husband, singer-songwriter Benny Blanco. During the podcast, Gomez candidly discussed her mental health struggles.

Reflecting on her bipolar diagnosis, Gomez admitted, "It was really complicated," and recalled, "I went through several specialists and four rehab facilities before receiving an accurate diagnosis."

In the podcast, Benny Blanco shared anecdotes, saying, "Selena would sometimes realize she was on her period late and couldn't remember when it started. Even on dates, she would react very sensitively." He added, "Initially, I didn't fully understand her bipolar symptoms, but over time, I learned to recognize them more quickly."

Gomez expressed gratitude towards her husband, stating, "Having someone who understands and meets me at my level is incredibly helpful." She further revealed, "Being diagnosed with bipolar disorder has allowed me to live a freer life. It's chaotic, but the diagnosis helps me understand my reactions to various situations."

Previously, in 2020, Gomez appeared on the talk show 'Bright Minded' and revealed her bipolar diagnosis. She shared, "The mental anguish I experienced two years ago became a trauma that triggered my bipolar disorder," and added, "On mentally tough days, I spend time with people I trust."

Selena Gomez was in a long-term relationship with Hollywood star Justin Bieber for about nine years before they split in 2018. Gomez and Blanco tied the knot in California last September. Benny Blanco is known for his work on BTS's digital single 'Bad Decisions.'
