Amidst escalating tensions between the U.S., Israel, and the Middle East, former T-ara member Soyeon, currently residing in Dubai, has caught attention with her recent update.
On the 3rd, Soyeon posted a photo on her social media featuring a Bible verse: "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'" This post is interpreted as a response to the ongoing military conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran that has spread across the Middle East.
Previously, on the 28th of last month, the U.S. and Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran, aiming to support anti-government protests and halt nuclear weapon development, effectively declaring war. Iran retaliated, escalating tensions throughout the region. In response, foreign ministers from Gulf countries like the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain held an emergency meeting, strongly condemning Iran and hinting at possible military action.
Dubai, part of the UAE, is also feeling the effects of the conflict, with missile attacks raising concerns for Soyeon's safety among her fans. Soyeon has continued to share religious messages, such as "He also gave me the strength to win" and "God's grace is pursuing my trials," expressing her determination to overcome the fear of war through faith.
Meanwhile, Soyeon married soccer player Cho Yu-min, who is eight years her junior, in 2022. Two years into their marriage, Cho Yu-min transferred to Sharjah FC in the UAE league, prompting the couple to relocate to Dubai.
