Heartwarming Gesture: Director Jang Hang-jun's Kindness to Actor Kim Yong-seok

Actor Kim Yong-seok, who had a minor role in the film 'The Man Living with the King,' shared a touching story about director Jang Hang-jun.

Recently, Kim Yong-seok posted a heartfelt message on his personal social media account, beginning with the phrase, "Life should be like Jang Hang-jun." In the post, he expressed gratitude for being able to play the role of Pan Hanseongbusa Yu Gwi-san in the movie, but more so for a personal gesture from director Jang Hang-jun.

According to Kim, during the filming, he mentioned to the director that his baby had been born a few days earlier. Jang Hang-jun responded warmly, saying, "Yong-seok, give me your phone. I'll give you my number. Send me your address, and I'll send you diapers. You'll need a lot of them at first."

Kim Yong-seok explained that he couldn't retrieve his phone at the time as it was tucked away in his costume, but he was grateful for the director's words. The next day, he received a message from Jang Hang-jun, which he shared in his post. The message read, "Yong-seok, it's Jang Hang-jun. Send me your address and the type of diapers your baby uses."

Kim revealed, "The director sent me two boxes of diapers. Despite his busy schedule, he found my personal number and reached out. It was a gesture that brought me immense gratitude and comfort. As an actor, I often felt lonely, and as a new father, I was burdened with responsibilities and insecurities. This act of kindness made me feel understood and supported."

He added, "Since that day, I've been cheering for the director in my heart. I aspire to be someone who can offer such comfort to others. Even after filming wrapped and the movie was released, with 7 million viewers having seen it, I continue to hope and pray for the director's success."

Meanwhile, the film 'The Man Living with the King,' which tells the story of King Danjong (played by Park Ji-hoon) exiled to Cheongnyeongpo, Gangwon-do in 1457, and the village chief Eom Heung-do (played by Yoo Hae-jin), surpassed 9 million cumulative viewers as of the morning of the 2nd.
