Channel A's 'Baseball Queens' Confirms Season 2 Amidst Growing Popularity
Channel A's 'Baseball Queens' is a sports variety show featuring 15 legendary athletes from various sports, including track and field's Kim Min-ji, rhythmic gymnastics' Shin Soo-ji, handball's Kim On-a and Park Ha-yan, judo's Kim Sung-yeon, swimming's Jung Yoo-in, speed skating's Kim Bo-reum, softball's Ayaka, boxing's Choi Hyun-mi, shooting's Park Bo-ram, rowing's Lee Soo-yeon, soccer's Joo Soo-jin, ice hockey's Shin So-jung, badminton's Jang Soo-young, and tennis' Song Ah. These athletes join the 50th women's baseball team in Korea, the Black Queens, aiming for victory in the national women's baseball tournament.
During their four-month training period, the Black Queens have shown remarkable growth, achieving a record of 4 wins and 3 losses. They have also discovered new stars like pitcher Jang Soo-young and batters Song Ah and Kim On-a, who have stirred excitement in the women's baseball scene, garnering immense support from fans. Under the meticulous guidance of Director Seri Pak, Coach Choo Shin-soo, and Coaches Lee Dae-hyung and Yoon Seok-min, these legendary athletes have transformed into a cohesive team, providing touching moments and establishing themselves as a must-watch content during the professional baseball off-season.
Buoyed by this interest and support, 'Baseball Queens' has confirmed the production of Season 2 following the extension of Season 1 by three episodes. A recruitment video for new players has been released, starting with the phrase, "We are looking for players to join us on the field." The video juxtaposes the first audition scenes of the 15 Black Queens, who initially knew little about baseball, with their current charismatic performances as baseball players, delivering a thrilling experience.
According to the Season 2 recruitment announcement, former athletes can apply to join the team regardless of their baseball experience. With casting open for all positions, including pitcher, catcher, infielder, and outfielder, there is anticipation for the emergence of the next Kim On-a, Song Ah, or Jang Soo-young in Season 2.
Meanwhile, the Black Queens are engaged in a fierce battle against the Heroines, trailing 9-7 by the end of the third inning in their final 8th match. The fate and emotional finale of the Black Queens, who are determined to win the final game, will be revealed in the final episode of 'Baseball Queens,' airing on the 3rd at 10 PM.
