Park Min-young Discusses Intense Role Preparation for New Drama 'Siren'
Park Min-young, known for her dramatic weight loss to 37kg for the tvN drama 'Marry My Husband' two years ago, revealed that she experienced tinnitus while preparing for her new project 'Siren'.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, the production presentation for the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Siren' was held online. The event was attended by MC Park Kyung-lim, director Kim Chul-kyu, and actors Park Min-young, Wi Ha-jun, and Kim Jung-hyun.

'Siren' is a captivating romance thriller about an irresistible insurance fraud suspect and a man who delves into the deadly truth surrounding her. Park Min-young transforms into an art auctioneer in the drama.

Park Min-young plays Han Seol-ah, the chief auctioneer at Royal Auction. Speaking about her chemistry with co-stars Wi Ha-jun and Kim Jung-hyun, she said, "Everything was great. I'm so grateful to the director for introducing me to actors who act with sincerity. The atmosphere on set was really kind and warm. It created an environment where we could naturally focus when the cameras rolled. We would chat and laugh, but as soon as the cameras started, we would switch to our roles within three seconds. It was amazing. I even heard tinnitus," she praised. When Park Kyung-lim joked, "Maybe it's because you drank a lot of water," Park Min-young playfully replied, "That could be it."

Previously, Park Min-young described her character Han Seol-ah as "a person who doesn't eat well. Many tragic events happen around her, so when she goes home, there's only water and alcohol. She appears professional outside, but when alone, she's a deeply lonely character, suffering from emptiness."

She added, "I thought gaining weight wouldn't suit the role. So, I ended up drinking only water and alcohol. During filming, I drank 3 liters of water a day. After filming, reducing water intake and returning to being Park Min-young was actually a problem. I think it was a good choice as it helped portray Han Seol-ah's sharp appearance."

Kim Jung-hyun plays Baek Joon-beom, a mysterious new wealthy figure. Regarding his chemistry with the cast, he said, "It was so much fun. Park Min-young tried to keep the mood dark, but I tried to keep it bright. I feel sorry if I caused her tinnitus," he joked. He continued, "We tried to film healthily and had a good time shooting with smiles."

'Siren' premieres on March 2 at 8:50 PM.
