Korean broadcaster Oh Sang-jin has officially announced his retirement from expanding his family.
On the 28th, a video titled 'Oh Sang-jin's Surprise Event. Call Me Oh Soo-jong. How Does Kim So-young React? (Family Vlog)' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Kim So-young's Thingree TV.'
In the video, Oh Sang-jin prepared a surprise 'baby shower' for his wife Kim So-young, who is expecting their child. Kim So-young, touched by the surprise gift, expressed her emotions by saying, "I'm moved," but humorously added, "This wasn't prepared by Oh Sang-jin, was it?"
Oh Sang-jin declared his official 'retirement' by stating, "There will be no more children. No third child. I'm too old." When their daughter asked, "Mom, but no third child?" Oh Sang-jin replied, "Do you want another sibling?" to which Kim So-young explained, "Mom is retiring."
When asked, "What if a third child comes?" Oh Sang-jin firmly emphasized, "That won't happen."
As their picky-eating daughter wandered around saying, "I don't want to eat," Kim So-young asked, "What if our son doesn't eat and wanders around later?" Oh Sang-jin expressed the exhaustion of parenting by saying, "I can't do this twice."
Oh Sang-jin completed the surprise party with a heartfelt letter. The letter read, "Even though it's tough being heavily pregnant, I'm so grateful and respectful of how you handle everything so gracefully as a mother and wife. I'll always be a loving family man and husband. I love you."
After the touching event, Oh Sang-jin humorously asked to be called 'Oh Soo-jong,' likening himself to the famously devoted husband Choi Soo-jong in the entertainment industry. When Kim So-young expressed her gratitude, he jokingly replied, "Why make a fuss over this? Everyone does it," and added, "Why do I have to organize an event on my birthday?" causing laughter.
Meanwhile, Oh Sang-jin married Kim So-young, a fellow MBC announcer, in 2017. Kim So-young has been recognized as a successful CEO, securing a 7 billion won investment for her bookstore and commerce business.
