BTS member Jungkook has found himself at the center of controversy following a candid live broadcast on the fan communication platform Weverse, where he made revelations about his past smoking habits, used profanity, and criticized his agency, HYBE.
On the morning of the 26th, Jungkook engaged with fans for approximately 90 minutes during a live session. During the broadcast, he admitted to being under the influence, stating, "I don't know what to be careful about during a live. I just want to be comfortable. I'm human too. I don't know. I just wanted to go live."
Jungkook confessed to having been a smoker in the past, saying, "I used to smoke a lot, but I don't anymore. I quit with effort. I'm almost 30, so why can't I talk about it? I want to share these things. The moment I say this, the company will go crazy. By tomorrow, the members and the company will have something to say, but I don't care." He continued with remarks aimed at his agency, saying, "I wanted to be honest with ARMY (the fandom). If it weren't for the company, I would have said everything."
His behavior during the live, including making obscene gestures and using profanity towards someone nearby, raised concerns among fans. When fans flooded the comments asking him to end the live, he responded, "Why should I turn off the live? I'm doing it because I want to. I wish people wouldn't tell me what to do."
BTS is gearing up for a full group comeback, with their fifth studio album 'ARIRANG' set to release on November 20th at 1 PM. The album will feature a total of 14 tracks. BTS will embark on a massive world tour starting from April 9-11 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium, covering 34 cities with 82 shows in total.
