Inside the Minds of 'Death Note' Stars: Kim Sung-cheol and Kim Min-seok Share Their Passion and Unique Rituals
The stars of the musical 'Death Note,' known for their roles as a brilliant detective and a genius high school student, have captivated fans by revealing their dedication to the craft and their intriguing off-stage personas.

On BIGBANG's Daesung's YouTube channel 'Jipdaesung,' a video titled 'Balance Game: If It Goes Like This, I Can Only Write It in Daes Note (Not Death Note)' was released.

The video features the lead actors of the musical 'Death Note,' Kim Sung-cheol and Kim Min-seok, engaging in a lively conversation with Daesung.

Kim Sung-cheol shared that he is currently focused on losing weight to perfectly embody his character. He revealed, "I've gained about 10kg since last season," explaining that he had bulked up for a different role and is now dieting to portray the slender physique of L from the original work.

He humorously expressed concern about the significant size difference with actor Lim Kyu-hyung, who plays Light, joking that he worries L might overshadow Light on stage.

The actors' meticulous preparation and unique habits also caught attention. Kim Min-seok revealed that Kim Sung-cheol has a ritual of showering before rehearsals to immerse himself in his character, to which Daesung jokingly responded, suggesting it might be a way to save on water bills.

Additionally, Kim Sung-cheol surprised everyone by revealing four different wallets in his bag, each for different purposes like walking and daily use. He confessed that he often loses or forgets items, hence the need to carry multiple wallets, but cleverly added, "I forget other things to remember my lines," showcasing his actor's mindset.

Their sincere philosophy towards acting and the audience also left a profound impact. During a balance game, when asked to choose between '10 billion won with no audience' and '1 million won with a sold-out show,' both actors unhesitatingly chose the latter, expressing their willingness to perform for passion rather than money.

Kim Sung-cheol stated, "The value of bringing joy to the audience is far greater than financial success," while Kim Min-seok demonstrated his extreme passion by saying he would pay to perform. Kim Min-seok also reflected on his humble beginnings, recalling his awe and humility when performing a Naul song on 'I Can See Your Voice.'
