Producer Simon and singer Chancellor have reportedly been arrested overseas on drug possession charges, prompting their agency, Jacobs, to issue an apology.
On the 24th, Jacobs stated, "We are taking the news of our producers' arrest, as reported by some media outlets, very seriously and apologize for causing concern to many." The agency added, "We are doing our utmost to verify the facts related to this matter and are cooperating sincerely and actively with all ongoing investigations."
They continued, "As the specific details have not yet been confirmed, we will promptly and transparently provide further statements once the facts are verified and the situation is clarified." They also expressed, "We deeply apologize once again for the concern and inconvenience caused by this incident."
According to Japanese media reports on the 23rd, four individuals were arrested in the early hours at a hotel room in Nagoya, Japan, on charges of violating drug control laws. Among them were producer Simon and singer Chancellor. Four bags of cocaine and one bag of marijuana were reportedly found in their hotel room, and police are investigating the source of the cocaine.
Simon participated in MC Mong's 5th album tracks 'Robanjul' and 'Dalmation Love' in 2009 and debuted as a member of the group Dalmation in 2012. He began his career as a producer in 2014 and founded the agency XGALX in 2018. He is also the producer of the Japanese girl group XG.
Chancellor is an artist under Simon's agency XGALX and was formerly known as Mikey when he was part of the group Double Kick. He married a flight attendant three years his junior in 2022 and welcomed a daughter in October last year. Chancellor has also produced albums for artists like Kang Daniel and Yuju.
