In an interview on October 11 at a café in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, Ahn Bo-hyun shared his thoughts following the conclusion of tvN's 'Spring Fever.' Born in 1988, Ahn candidly discussed his career and current views on marriage.
The drama 'Spring Fever,' based on a webtoon, tells the story of a hot pink romance between teacher Yoon Bom (played by Lee Joo-bin) and the passionate Seon Jae-kyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), melting even the coldest hearts. The show concluded on October 10 with its highest viewership rating of 5.7% (Nielsen Korea, paid households). Ahn received praise for his portrayal of the 'charming and straightforward' Seon Jae-kyu, showing a high level of character synchronization.
"I'm joining the filming of 'Rebel Detective 2' soon, and I'm thrilled. Other actors started filming yesterday and sent me photos from the set. I love communicating with the director. Even on my days off, I find myself wanting to visit the set," he shared.
Ahn expressed his desire to maintain his excitement for work. "Balancing work and marriage at this stage might complicate things. I want to focus solely on my career," he said.
Ahn noted, "Seeing positive viewer reactions gave me confidence. It felt like the love I received turned my struggles into courage as an actor. I want to express myself more boldly in future roles."
After wrapping up 'Spring Fever,' Ahn is diving into 'Rebel Detective 2' and shared his aspirations for future roles. "I believe 'Itaewon Class' was my only proper villain role so far. If given the chance, I'd love to take on a strong villain character, regardless of the project's scale. I hope to showcase a new side of myself," he smiled.
