On the latest episode of KBS 2TV's 'New Release, Pyeonstorang', actress Nam Bo-ra expressed her heartfelt apologies to her mother, who raised 13 children.
During the episode aired on the 20th, Nam Bo-ra visited an obstetrician with her mother. At 38 years old, she is considered a high-risk pregnancy. After undergoing a NIPT test, she was relieved to hear from the doctor that there were no major issues with the baby's chromosomes.
The doctor explained, "Today, we will conduct a nuchal translucency test to assess the risk of Down syndrome." Watching her three-month-old fetus move, Nam Bo-ra joked, "It seems like the baby knows it's being filmed. It kept moving."
Upon hearing the baby's heartbeat, Nam Bo-ra admitted, "I get emotional every time I hear it." After completing the test, she was reassured by the doctor's words that the baby was fine and shared the good news with her husband.
Nam Bo-ra excitedly remarked, "The baby's arms and legs are so long. They could be a model or an idol." When asked if she preferred a son or daughter, her husband expressed his hope for a daughter, to which Nam Bo-ra teased, "We'll reveal it next week."
As an expectant mother, Nam Bo-ra expressed her regrets to her own mother, who had to sign consent forms for potential hysterectomies during childbirth due to excessive bleeding. Her mother shared, "All of you were born at the risk of my life. No birth was easy."
Reflecting on her childhood, Nam Bo-ra recalled being upset with her mother when her youngest sibling was born. "I wish I had been a more obedient and kind daughter," she lamented, remembering how she complained about her mother's decision to have more children.
Nam Bo-ra confessed, "My mother bravely faced childbirth despite her fears, and I regret being angry. As I prepare to become a mother, I understand her feelings better. I received many congratulations for my pregnancy, but I never once congratulated my mother."
Nam Bo-ra's mother tearfully admitted, "I felt bad for not being able to give you more because I was so busy. I sometimes thought if I had only had you and your brother, I could have provided more. But seeing how well you all turned out, I feel proud."
In other news, Nam Bo-ra was awarded a presidential commendation for her volunteer work, receiving a badge and a watch. She proudly shared, "I started volunteering with my mom and ended up receiving an award."
