Yoo Jae-suk turned down an offer to appear on 'SNL' during the latest episode of SBS's variety show 'Anytime.'
On the episode aired on the 17th, actors Jung Sang-hoon and Ji Ye-eun appeared as 'Anytime Friends.'
Jung Sang-hoon and Ji Ye-eun attempted to recruit Yoo Jae-suk for the new season of 'SNL.' They tried to persuade him by saying, "You know 'SNL' is starting, right? We sent an offer."
Ji Ye-eun, who introduced herself as a casting director, extended an impromptu invitation to Yoo Jae-suk. However, Yoo Jae-suk immediately declined, saying, "I can't go on the show." He added, "I can't say 'I'll think about it' just to be polite. We're all busy."
Observing the interaction between Jung Sang-hoon and Ji Ye-eun, Yoo Jae-suk asked, "Did you two not talk when you were on 'SNL'?" Jung Sang-hoon revealed, "When we did 'SNL,' we started meetings at 9 AM. We were brainstorming from then on, with no time for small talk."
Yoo Jae-suk empathized, saying, "Sketch comedy is inherently difficult. It's hard to make it work." Ji Ye-eun confessed, "If you can't make it work, you feel demoralized. In 'SNL,' if you can't make it funny, there's no 'It was fun.' The role changes immediately. It's really cutthroat."
Meanwhile, Yoo Jae-suk tasted the popular item 'Dujjonku' (Dubai chewy cookie) during the opening and candidly said, "I don't know, it doesn't suit me." He added, "Kids might like it during the holidays, but adults might just take a bite and say, 'It's not to my taste.'"
When asked about his holiday plans, Yoo Jae-suk shared, "To avoid the nagging about 'When are you getting married?' I'll be meeting my nephews and nieces during the Lunar New Year. I'm at the age where I give rather than receive New Year's money."
