Actress Ok Ja-yeon Welcomes a New Furry Family Member on 'I Live Alone'

Actress Ok Ja-yeon recently shared her heartwarming experience of welcoming a new furry family member.

On the October 13th episode of MBC's 'I Live Alone,' viewers got a glimpse into Ok Ja-yeon's daily life.

During the broadcast, Ok introduced her second pet cat, saying, "I welcomed my second cat, 'Bomi,' last December." She recalled the moment Bomi approached her on the street, noting, "When I got closer, I noticed a wound on its back. I thought it just needed some first aid, but it turned out the wound was infected and required surgery."

After the surgery, Ok learned from the veterinarian that Bomi was visually impaired. She shared, "The vet told me that Bomi couldn't see and had some health issues, making adoption difficult. So, I decided to take care of her. She sat quietly on my lap, and since I met her on my birthday, it felt like fate."

Ok also shared that her first cat, Chacha, and Bomi adjusted well to each other within two weeks. Explaining the origin of Bomi's name, she said, "The vet mentioned that if I hadn't brought her in, she wouldn't have survived the winter to see spring. So, I named her 'Bomi,' wishing her life to be filled with spring."

Regarding Bomi's visual impairment, Ok explained that the cat uses her other senses to navigate and live comfortably. When asked about litter training, she said, "Initially, she struggled, but I kept guiding her. I would move her to the litter box and even catch her waste with my hands for a few days until she learned. Now, there's no problem."

Following the broadcast, viewers praised Ok Ja-yeon for adopting and caring for a visually impaired cat with such dedication. Many appreciated her efforts to provide a stable environment for Bomi and sent messages of support.
