Chef Yoon Nam-no, known for his appearance on Netflix's 'Chef in Black and White', embarks on a new adventure.
In the latest episode of MBC's 'Save Me! Holmes' (directed by Jung Da-hi, Nam Yoo-jung, Heo Ja-yoon, Kim Sung-nyeon), the show continued its 'Black and White Zone' special by visiting the space of French Papa. The episode then transitioned into the 'Gangwon Province Winter Special', where the team explored life in a remote village during the harsh winter.
In this 'Black and White Zone' part two, Kim Sook, Yoon Nam-no, and Park Eun-young visited the competitive restaurant district of Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam. They stopped by the restaurant of Chef Tommy Lee, who gained fame on 'Chef in Black and White Season 2' as 'French Papa'. The restaurant, which has been operating for 17 years, showcased its classic main space along with an efficient kitchen and cooking facilities.
The 'Gangwon Province Winter Special' took the team to a remote village in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, where temperatures dropped to 10 degrees below zero, with a wind chill of minus 13 degrees. 'Nature Team' Kim Dae-ho and Yang Se-hyung, along with 'City Team' Yang Se-chan and Ahn Jae-hyun, displayed perfect chemistry as they experienced the daily lives of people enduring the extreme cold.
The snow that fell on the day of filming turned a frozen valley into a natural ice rink, sparking the curiosity of the cast. They engaged in playful activities, such as hitting the frozen valley with stones and pulling each other on sleds, evoking laughter. A curling match for a 'wish ticket' ensued, with Yang Se-chan winning by a single point and immediately suggesting a 'group plunge', shocking everyone.
The first location they visited was a 'slash-and-burn farmer's house'. This area, once home to slash-and-burn farmers, now has only about ten households remaining. The house they visited was the first in the village, originally the home of the homeowner's grandmother. The homeowner, who moved here about 20 years ago, has maintained the original structure without remodeling, drawing attention.
The homeowner shared stories of transitioning from an actor in Daehangno to settling in Jeongseon due to redevelopment. Despite being deep in the mountains, the homeowner revealed that an outdoor stage in front of the house hosts performances, attracting many visitors.
With the homeowner's permission, the team began their 'living experience' in the village. Whether their lunch preparations will go smoothly will be revealed in next week's episode.
The next episode of MBC's 'Save Me! Holmes' airs Thursday at 10 PM.
