Amudda Band Makes Debut with Star-Studded Lineup: A New Chapter in K-Pop

A new band, Amudda Band, featuring a star-studded lineup including singer Hong Kyung-min, composer Jo Young-soo, singer and actor Cha Tae-hyun, singer Jeon In-hyuk, comedian Kim Jun-hyun, and singer Jo Jung-min, has made its debut in the music industry.

On the 12th, Amudda Band held a debut media showcase at SA Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The band consists of Hong Kyung-min (leader & bassist), Jo Young-soo (keyboard), Cha Tae-hyun (guest vocalist), Jeon In-hyuk (guitar), Kim Jun-hyun (drums), and Jo Jung-min (piano). They first came together during the KBS 2TV 'Immortal Songs' New Year special in 2026, where they won the final competition.

Hong Kyung-min expressed his gratitude, saying, "I feel like I'm enjoying an unexpected blessing by meeting such great members." Jo Young-soo added, "I met these friends when I was tired and losing passion from just composing. It feels like I'm back in high school when I first started music. I'm living happily every day."

Guest vocalist Cha Tae-hyun also attended the showcase, expressing surprise at the media turnout. He said, "What is happening? Is it normal for so many reporters to come? I'm curious and amazed. I'm here by chance, but thanks to Amudda Band, we have a new song. I'm grateful for this opportunity."

He humorously questioned the large attendance, saying, "I wonder why so many people came. It's fascinating since we're not an idol band." Kim Jun-hyun shared, "It's truly wonderful. I've never seen so many people even at a new program's press conference. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the attention and love."

Cha Tae-hyun hinted at the next guest, saying, "We have a secret weapon." Hong Kyung-min revealed, "He hasn't participated in the single yet. He's good at boxing," hinting at Jang Hyuk as the next guest vocalist. Jeon In-hyuk, who was a vocalist during his Yada days, expressed no regrets about not being the main vocalist, saying, "We are a band where everyone plays and sings, and everyone is a protagonist. Cha Tae-hyun's vocal skills are excellent, and he brings a youthful spirit that we couldn't express."

Amudda Band features all members singing. Hong Kyung-min stated, "If a too outstanding vocalist joins, other members might be overshadowed. We have the right feel of a working band. Even if Cha Tae-hyun is busy and can't join the next single, it would be great to have someone who loves singing, not necessarily a professional singer or actor."

Each member shared their goals. Kim Jun-hyun expressed a desire to perform at rock festivals like 'Pentaport' or 'Jisan Rock Festival,' humorously adding, "We're not expensive, so don't hesitate to contact us. We'll manage with just travel expenses." He also expressed a wish to perform overseas, even at personal expense.

Jo Young-soo shared, "The scale is growing beyond what I initially imagined, and my expectations are rising. It would be more satisfying to enter the top 100 on music charts than having a singer I produce reach number one."

The debut single 'You Know' is a stadium pop and rock serenade about the desire to express love despite the unknown future. Composer Jo Young-soo worked on the song, with Amudda Band members contributing to the lyrics. Cha Tae-hyun's clear vocals are complemented by each member's voice.

Amudda Band's first digital single 'You Know' will be released on the 13th at 6 PM.
