A shocking real-life story has emerged involving a married man who arranged a fake marriage between his girlfriend, a Korean-Chinese, and his best friend to help her acquire Korean citizenship.
On the recent episode of Channel A's 'Secrets of Detectives,' aired on the 9th, the full story of a vandalism incident at a self-service photo booth in Seoul was revealed. Last week, a client requested help to find the perpetrator who caused approximately 70 million won in damages. The culprit used a lost card to make a 950,000 won purchase and urinated throughout the premises.
Four days later, the same individual returned, discharged a fire extinguisher throughout the store, and fled. The damages, including broken equipment and business interruption, amounted to around 70 million won. The detective team discovered that the suspect was from Hong Kong and staying in Korea with his mother. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had also discharged over ten fire extinguishers at a prayer center and was involved in a convenience store theft, with the police in pursuit.
After persistent investigation, the detectives found the vandal at a lodging facility. The suspect was a 13-year-old boy from Hong Kong, much younger than expected. His nonchalant reaction to the CCTV footage of his crime angered many. He claimed, "The devil made me do it. If I don't obey, it hits my head and stomach," a statement that left many in disbelief. Defconn reacted with anger, saying, "Laughing?" while Kim Poong commented, "He seems possessed by a devil." Although the boy was handed over to the police, his status as a minor and foreigner made substantial punishment difficult. Despite the significant damages, the client only received 1.1 million won for cleaning costs.
In the 'Case Notebook' segment, featuring actor Heo Sung-tae from 'The Outlaws' and 'Squid Game,' a woman's suspicion of her husband's infidelity was explored. She reported that her husband, while drunk on their anniversary, called out another woman's name in bed. The investigation revealed that the husband was having an affair with his best friend's wife at the friend's house. Shockingly, the best friend was aware of the affair and even provided alibis and hotel rooms for the couple. Kim Poong expressed disbelief, saying, "This is beyond imagination," while Defconn was left speechless, "Wow... this is insane." Guest detective Heo Sung-tae was astonished, "Is this the level of 'Detective Secrets'? This show is incredible."
The full story was even more shocking. The client's husband had promised to marry his Korean-Chinese girlfriend he met during his studies in China six years ago, but they broke up due to his father's disapproval. He later entered a loveless marriage with the client. A year and a half ago, he reunited with his former girlfriend, setting off a chain of events. To help her obtain Korean citizenship, he paid off her gambling debts of 50 million won and arranged a fake marriage with his best friend, paying 3 million won monthly.
After acquiring citizenship, he planned to divorce the client and remarry his former girlfriend, with a wedding venue already booked in China. His brazen attitude, saying, "She was first, not you," left Defconn shocked, "This is an unprecedented real-life story." The client has since filed a lawsuit for adultery and reported the fake marriage for citizenship fraud.
