Singer-songwriter Park Kyung-koo has passed away at the age of 38.
On October 7th, a post on Park Kyung-koo's personal social media account by his cousin, Park Sung-hyun, read, "Hello, this is Kyung-koo's cousin, Park Sung-hyun. It's still hard to believe, but on behalf of the family, I am sharing the sad news. We would appreciate your warm thoughts as we say goodbye to him."
A memorial service for the late Park Kyung-koo has been set up at a funeral home in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, with the funeral taking place on October 9th.
Park Kyung-koo was an early member of the group Busker Busker, which included singer Jang Beom-june. He played a significant role in raising the group's profile. A high school friend of Jang Beom-june, Park was deeply involved in composing and arranging all the tracks for Jang's first solo album, a collaboration that was highly regarded. He wrote, composed, and arranged numerous songs, including 'Difficult Woman,' 'A Person Who Suits the Word Love,' 'Sinpung Station Exit 2 Blues,' and 'Falling Leaves Ending.'
Following the news of Park's passing, a message from Jang Beom-june from March of last year has resurfaced. At the time, Jang released his fourth album, 'History of a Loser,' and expressed his wishes for Park's health, to which Park responded, "I am healthy."
Currently, Jang Beom-june is paying tribute to Park Kyung-koo by uploading a 'Park Kyung-koo Best Live Clip' video on his YouTube channel, performing songs that Park had worked on.
