Korean Singer-Songwriter Park Kyung-gu Passes Away at 38

Park Kyung-gu, a member of the band Algenity and a talented singer-songwriter, has passed away at the age of 38.

His family announced the sad news on his social media on the 7th, stating, "Though it's still hard to believe, we are sharing this news on behalf of the family. We hope you will join us in sending him off with warmth." The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Park was an original member of the band Busker Busker during their busking days, led by singer-songwriter Jang Beom-jun. He contributed significantly to shaping the early musical style of Busker Busker, participating in the writing, composing, and arranging of several songs, including 'Difficult Woman,' 'A Person Who Suits the Word Love,' and 'Sinpung Station Exit 2 Blues.'

He also collaborated with Jang Beom-jun during his solo career, credited as the original creator of 'Between Hongdae and Konkuk University,' and contributed to Jang's first and second solo albums. Jang Beom-jun paid tribute to Park by releasing a memorial video on his YouTube channel on the 9th.
