Korean actor Lee Beom-soo and interpreter Lee Yoon-jin have finalized their divorce, two years after announcing their separation. Despite a tumultuous period during the divorce proceedings, the couple has resolved their misunderstandings and committed to co-parenting their children.
On the 6th, Lee Beom-soo's agency, Y1 Entertainment, announced, "Lee Beom-soo has completed the legal procedures related to his divorce through mutual agreement."
The agency further stated, "After thorough discussions, Lee Beom-soo and Lee Yoon-jin have cleared up their misunderstandings. They have agreed to respect and support each other as parents to their children. During the divorce process, there were speculative reports and distorted interpretations that spread, and we wish to correct these."
The agency also emphasized, "Speculative reports about Lee Beom-soo are not true, and the agreement between the parties was reached amicably. We ask that unfounded rumors, criticism, and false information about Lee Beom-soo, Lee Yoon-jin, and their family cease. Moreover, to protect the children's stability and privacy, we request that further speculation or reports about their marriage and divorce be avoided."
Lee Yoon-jin shared her feelings about the divorce through a handwritten letter on her social media. In the letter, she wrote, "After approximately 15 years of marriage, I have amicably agreed to a divorce with Lee Beom-soo." She continued, "We have resolved the misunderstandings that arose due to a lack of communication during our marriage and have agreed to respect and support each other as parents." She also added, "Please warmly support actor Lee Beom-soo in his future endeavors."
Lee Beom-soo was previously married to a college classmate in 2003, but the marriage ended in divorce after five months. He remarried in May 2010 to Lee Yoon-jin, who was his English teacher, and they have a daughter and a son together. The couple announced their separation in March 2024 and finalized their divorce in February this year.
