BTS is set to transform Seoul into a massive cultural experience. Following the release of their 5th studio album 'ARIRANG' and a comeback live performance at Gwanghwamun Square, the group is launching a large-scale project that will encompass the entire city.
BigHit Music announced on the 6th that 'BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL' will take place from March 20 to April 12. The event will feature experiential content combining music and media, along with installation art utilizing the city's landscape.
On the album release day, March 20, major landmarks like Sungnyemun and Seoul Tower will be adorned with media facades. This fusion of historical cultural heritage with modern media techniques will create scenes where tradition and modernity coexist, promoting the value of Korean cultural heritage globally.
From March 22, a lounge program at Yeouido Hangang Park will allow fans to share and enjoy BTS's music. In April, exhibitions will utilize Seoul's stone walls, stairs, and trees, transforming their song lyrics into media art using light and video.
BigHit Music stated, "During 'THE CITY SEOUL,' we have collaborated with the city of Seoul to create programs that allow tourists and citizens to experience art in new ways and enjoy BTS's return in a multi-dimensional manner. We have also prepared partnership events in various fields such as F&B and mobility, so please look forward to it."
BTS previously made a significant impact with their 'THE CITY' project in Las Vegas in April 2022 and in Busan in October of the same year. This project model provides an expanded experience for fans by offering various attractions throughout the city.
Detailed schedules and program information will be released later on BTS's channel on the fan platform Weverse. This project will start in Seoul and will be sequentially expanded to major cities worldwide.
