30-Year-Old Man Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Valuables from TV Personality Park Na-rae's Home
A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to prison in an appeals court for stealing valuables worth tens of millions of won from the home of TV personality Park Na-rae.

On the 5th, the Seoul Western District Court's Criminal Appeals Division 2-1, led by Judge Jeong Seong-gyun, upheld the original sentence of two years in prison for the defendant, identified as Mr. A, who was charged with theft and nighttime residential intrusion.

The court stated, "Considering that the crime was committed during a probation period and there are no significant changes in circumstances compared to the first trial, the original sentence does not seem unreasonable."

During the appeal, Mr. A requested leniency, claiming that "Park Na-rae refused to settle." However, the court maintained the original sentence after comprehensively considering the circumstances of the crime and the risk of reoffending.

In the initial trial, the court sentenced Mr. A to two years in prison, noting that "the defendant admitted to the charges and returned the stolen valuables to the victim," while also considering his prior similar offenses and the high value of the stolen items.

Last April, Park Na-rae's home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, was burglarized, with valuables worth tens of millions of won stolen. Park Na-rae reported the incident to the police, and it was revealed that the thief was a 30-year-old man with no prior acquaintance with her.
