Chef Kim Hoon Reveals Sales Surge After 'Black and White Chef 2' Appearance


Chef Kim Hoon, known as the 'Trend King' from Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2,' shares his sales figures following the show's broadcast. Recently, Chef Lim Sung-geun, who gained attention on 'Black and White Chef 2,' was revealed to have a criminal record for DUI and assault, sparking controversy.

MBC's 'Save Me! Homes' (directed by Jung Da-hee, Nam Yoo-jung, Heo Ja-yoon, Kim Sung-nyeon) will feature a visit to the restaurants and homes of chefs from Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2.'

The episode will include appearances by Chef Yoon Nam-no, known as the 'Cooking Maniac' from 'Black and White Chef 1,' and 'Goddess of Chinese Cuisine' Chef Park Eun-young, alongside celebrity Kim Sook, as they explore the 'Black and White Zone,' an area known for its concentration of 'Black and White Chef' restaurants.

The trio meets Chef Kim Hoon, the owner of a landmark restaurant on Yongridan-gil and a 'Trend King' from 'Black and White Chef 2.' His restaurant, a hotspot on Yongridan-gil, is known for its long wait times. Chef Park Eun-young praises Kim Hoon's courage for establishing his restaurant six years ago, before the area became popular. Kim Hoon reveals, "Looking back, it was a low-risk investment," and surprises everyone by disclosing the rent conditions at the time.

Chef Kim Hoon also shares behind-the-scenes stories from 'Black and White Chef 2,' including a significant increase in sales following the show. Chef Yoon Nam-no exclaims, "You're making a fortune!" highlighting the 'Black and White Chef effect.'

Before opening his restaurant, Chef Kim Hoon prepared a staff meal, which impressed Chef Park Eun-young, who exclaimed, "I want to work here!" Ju Woo-jae, observing, expressed envy, saying, "You have to be staff to eat this." Chef Yoon Nam-no notes Kim Hoon's reputation for offering top-tier salaries and employee benefits, sparking curiosity about his workplace.

Chef Kim Hoon, who operates three restaurants on Yongridan-gil, chose a home just two minutes away on foot for convenience. There is growing interest in what his home, located in the heart of Yongridan-gil, looks like.
