BTS's New Album 'ARIRANG' Surpasses 3 Million Pre-Saves on Spotify

BTS's latest album 'ARIRANG' has achieved over 3 million pre-saves on Spotify.

According to Spotify, BTS's fifth studio album 'ARIRANG' has surpassed 3 million pre-saves. The album reached 1 million pre-saves within two days of its announcement and hit 2 million in just four days, showing a rapid increase. With this momentum, there is speculation whether it will break the record held by Taylor Swift's 12th studio album 'The Life of a Showgirl,' which has approximately 6 million pre-saves.

'ARIRANG' also topped Spotify's 'Countdown Chart Global' for two consecutive weeks on January 21 and 28. This chart, which tracks pre-order metrics for upcoming albums, serves as an objective indicator of global music fans' anticipation.

Interest in the album is evident through various metrics. The fan platform Weverse reported a threefold increase in membership sign-ups following the announcement of the new album and world tour. Additionally, BTS's previous hits 'Yet To Come' and 'Love Maze' have been re-evaluated, with each surpassing 100 million and 5 million streams, respectively, as of December last year, earning 'Platinum' and 'Gold' certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

BTS's fifth studio album 'ARIRANG' is set to be released globally on March 20 at 1 PM. The album includes 14 tracks that explore themes of identity, longing, and universal emotions of love. On March 21, the day after the album release, BTS will hold 'BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG' at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, marking the first solo performance by an artist at this venue. This event is expected to set a new milestone in Korean cultural history. The live performance will be broadcasted on Netflix to over 190 countries and regions worldwide.
