Netflix's reality show 'Single's Inferno' Season 5 has achieved record-breaking viewership for the second consecutive week.
According to Netflix's TOP 10 website on the 4th, 'Single's Inferno 5' recorded 3.9 million views (calculated by dividing viewing hours by the total running time of the show, from January 26 to February 1) and 37.3 million viewing hours, maintaining its impressive position at No. 2 in the non-English show category of Netflix's TOP 10. The show not only topped the charts in countries like South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore but also made it to the TOP 10 list in 26 countries, including Taiwan, Brazil, Japan, and Morocco, captivating audiences worldwide.
The candid and confident singles, their bold flirting, and the ever-changing love lines have heightened excitement and dopamine levels among viewers. The addition of 'Double Trouble' Jo I-geon and Lee Ha-eun, along with the intense emotions of the singles, has further fueled the global audience's enthusiasm. After the third week's release, netizens commented, "I'm laughing like Lee Da-hee while watching the flirting, oh 'Single's Inferno' is fun," "Everyone's hooked on 'Single's Inferno,'" "The contestants are fun, but watching the MCs get immersed is also entertaining," and "Watching this changed my preference to younger partners."
The contestants' appearances and backgrounds have also become a hot topic. Notably, 'Track and Field Karina' Kim Min-ji, Kim Go-eun, who was once rumored to be dating singer G-Dragon, and Miss Earth winner Choi Min-a-su have garnered significant attention. Choi Min-a-su, known for her provocative and rude behavior, has been dubbed the 'villain character.' She also ranked first in the non-drama TV-OTT integrated performer popularity category for the fifth week of January, according to the buzz index Fundex. Choi Min-a-su made a brief appearance as Lee Jong-suk's blind date in the drama 'Seocho-dong.'
Previously, the 5 MCs Hong Jin-kyung, Lee Da-hee, Kyuhyun, Hanhae, and Dex, along with the production team, emphasized that this is an "unprecedented season." Directors Kim Jae-won, Kim Jung-hyun, and Park Su-ji expressed their gratitude, saying, "It's truly miraculous that so many fans continue to love the show even in its fifth season," and "We will listen more to the fans' voices and strive to create great content."
