Comedian Shim Hyung-rae recently shared a glimpse into his life and home in a new YouTube video.
On October 3rd, the YouTube channel 'Younggu TV' released a special episode titled '[Special Edition] 'Legend of Comedy' Shim Hyung-rae's Home Revealed for the First Time!'.
In the video, Shim Hyung-rae stated, "I'm revealing my home for the first time, something I didn't do even when I lived in Hyundai Apartments or Tower Palace, all because of YouTube." The writer humorously handed him some kimchi, saying it was "for delivering to elderly people living alone."
In response to the writer's joke about his single status, Shim Hyung-rae emphasized, "Prostate surgery should never be taken lightly, and it has nothing to do with virility." Despite his discomfort, he expressed his desire to cook for his team, promising to serve 'beef curry.'
Shim Hyung-rae highlighted his 'secret recipe,' adding generous amounts of seasoning like Dashida, MSG, and sugar, which elicited laughter. Meanwhile, a staff member, after exploring the house, jokingly expressed disappointment, saying, "I was hoping to find traces of a woman, but there's none."
When the staff seemed unimpressed by the curry, Shim Hyung-rae humorously remarked, "I made this while bleeding after prostate surgery yesterday. If it doesn't taste good, it's hard to even film it," drawing laughter.
Living alone for 16 years after divorcing his wife, who was 10 years younger, Shim Hyung-rae confidently shared, "I have my own diet secret." However, the writer humorously revealed, "He takes diet pills," causing laughter.
Once a top star in the comedy world with his 'Younggu' character, Shim Hyung-rae was known to have earned enough to buy 160 Hyundai Apartments in Apgujeong. However, after a failed movie production, he faced bankruptcy in 2013 with debts amounting to approximately 17 billion won.
