Trotier Magazine Debuts with Singer Jin Hae-sung as Cover Model

The global K-Trot magazine 'Trotier' has chosen singer Jin Hae-sung as the cover model for its inaugural issue.

The magazine's name, 'Trotier,' combines the values of 'Top-tier,' 'Premier,' and 'Frontier,' signifying a space to enjoy the pinnacle of trot content.

The inaugural issue, themed 'The Gravity of Sound: Jin Hae-sung's Profound Sincerity,' delves into the artist's deep inner world and musical journey. In an interview, Jin Hae-sung explained how the strength he used to maintain balance as a judo athlete has transformed into the energy of sound that deeply captivates audiences, revealing the roots of his unique singing style.

He particularly defined his 10-year-long busking experience on the streets of Hongdae as the "most solid foundation of his musical life." His confession that "the instinctive methods learned to penetrate the noise of bustling streets became the teacher that perfected his solid sound" underscores the weight of his music. The issue also candidly captures his honest records of enduring prejudice and disregard as a young trot singer.

Additionally, the magazine reveals the humble daily life of 'human Jin Hae-sung' offstage. On days without a schedule, he plans comments to make his fans smile more and considers his mother's kimchi stew the best remedy for stress, sharing heartwarming anecdotes. Regarding future activities, he expressed his aspiration to be a singer who offers comfort to the public in both happy and sad times, and his musical ambition to create an album filled only with his voice and guitar, which has been with him since his busking days.

The inaugural issue of 'Trotier' also includes in-depth interviews with singers Jang Ha-on and Lee Do-jin, along with a variety of engaging reads that traverse the history of trot. It covers the revival of trot in the 1980s led by Joo Hyun-mi and Kim Yeon-ja, the 60-year musical journey of the 'eternal oppa' Nam Jin, and an in-depth analysis of trot concerts as a cultural phenomenon, enhancing its value as the only magazine leading global K-Trot.
