BTS is set to make a grand return with a live performance at Seoul's Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, which will be broadcasted live worldwide.
On March 21 at 8 PM KST, BTS will hold 'BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE|ARIRANG' at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. This event celebrates the release of their new album of the same name. The performance will feature new tracks, including the title song, and will be the first time a solo artist has performed at this iconic location.
Previously, BTS performed at Gyeongbokgung Palace for 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' during 'BTS Week' in 2020. This upcoming performance marks their return to a central urban setting after five and a half years, signaling a new chapter for the group.
'BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE|ARIRANG' will be streamed in collaboration with Netflix, marking the first time a major event in Korea will be broadcast live to viewers in over 190 countries/regions via Netflix. This global event underscores BTS's immense international influence.
Big Hit Music stated, "The new album 'ARIRANG' embodies BTS's origins, identity, and the emotions they wish to convey now. Given the symbolic meaning of 'Arirang,' we chose Gwanghwamun Square, a representative location of Korea, for the first performance."
Additionally, on March 27, Netflix will exclusively release a documentary film titled 'BTS: THE RETURN,' which covers the making of the new album. This documentary captures the group's creative process and the evolution of 'the current BTS' over the past three years and nine months.
BTS's fifth studio album 'ARIRANG,' featuring 14 tracks, will be released on March 20 at 1 PM.
