On the October 31st episode of MBN's variety show 'Dongchimi', Kim Ji-yeon revealed that she continues to communicate with her ex-husband regarding their child, even after their divorce.
Kim stated, "I believe that if it's for the sake of the child, we can continue to care for them even after divorce," adding, "Even though we have both remarried, we communicate when it comes to matters concerning our child."
However, online criticism emerged with comments like, "Why do you keep talking about your ex-husband?" and "Aren't you considering the feelings of his current wife?" In response, Kim Ji-yeon clarified, "His current wife has given me permission to talk about this. Our relationship is settled in that way."
She emphasized, "Since I have remarried, no matter how much we have a child together, we do not meet privately. I don't want others to think, 'Are they meeting again using the child as an excuse?'"
Kim Ji-yeon married Lee Se-chang in 2003 and they had a daughter together, but divorced after 10 years. Lee Se-chang remarried in 2017 to someone 13 years his junior.
