The ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'Honor: Her Court' (hereafter 'Honor') is a mystery pursuit drama about three female lawyers confronting a past that has returned as a massive scandal. In the drama, Yoon Ra-young (Lee Na-young), Kang Shin-jae (Jung Eun-chae), and Hwang Hyun-jin (Lee Chung-ah) have been friends since their college days in their 20s and are lawyers who founded L&J (Listen and Join), a firm specializing in defending female crime victims.
However, their journey is not merely an extension of friendship or career. L&J embodies the meaning of 'listening to victims' stories (Listen) and joining them (Join),' and as Yoon Ra-young revealed in a previously released teaser, it clearly shows the belief, "I wanted to become the person we desperately needed." This also raises curiosity about where their goal originated and what led the three in the same direction.
The actors themselves have highlighted the core points of their relationship, adding credibility to this narrative. Lee Na-young described the emotion that runs through the three characters as "a solidarity emotion that carries the same secret beyond friendship." It's a relationship that, for survival and honor, remains unbroken even when shattered, because they share the same burden, not just because they are old friends.
Jung Eun-chae pointed out the moments in the work where the strength of their two-decade friendship is evident. Implicit moments that don't need words, the same beliefs and similar temperaments formed over long years, have led them to the same place. As she stated, "The starting point of all stories is a sad fate and solidarity," hinting that their past is connected to their current choices.
Lee Chung-ah's insight is more intuitive. "The heart that runs through the three is about 'protecting each other.'" Within the relationship tied by words like love and friendship, various emotions exist, but what has kept them together until now is ultimately "the desire to protect each other from harm." This simple yet earnest attitude towards each other is the force that has sustained the relationship of the three lawyers and the foundation that has led to their current choices.
L&J, which declared to stand by the victims. However, at its inception, the silence and secret shared by the three 20 years ago are connected like a fuse. The curiosity about why they decided to become the 'last bastion' for victims and how that secret intertwines with the founding of L&J is heightening expectations for the drama. The production team stated, "The solidarity shown by Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae, and Lee Chung-ah will be more than just reassuring; it will be desperate," and added, "Please unravel the mysterious thread of fate connecting the incident 20 years ago with the current L&J through the broadcast."
'Honor: Her Court' is based on a Swedish drama of the same name and will premiere on February 2nd, Monday at 10 PM on ENA, and will be available on KT Genie TV and Coupang Play.
