Actor Yoo Ji-tae has praised his co-star Park Ji-hoon for his performance in the film 'The Man Living with the King'.
Recently, Yoo Ji-tae, who stars in 'The Man Living with the King', was interviewed at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.
'The Man Living with the King' tells the story of a young dethroned king in exile and a village chief who volunteers to join him, as they gradually open their hearts to each other. Yoo Ji-tae plays the role of Han Myeong-hoe, the most powerful figure of the time, while Park Ji-hoon portrays the ill-fated King Danjong.
Yoo Ji-tae remarked, "Even before we started filming, I said this movie would be about Danjong," adding, "Park Ji-hoon is an actor with a great canvas for portraying Danjong." He continued, "It's a great fortune for an actor to find a project that allows them to shine during their prime. I had a similar experience with the film 'Ditto'. It's a rare occurrence, and it seems Ji-hoon found the right film at the right time."
Yoo Ji-tae also shared his impressions of Park Ji-hoon as an actor. He stated, "Ji-hoon has a well-developed 'actor mindset'." He added, "Ji-hoon has already gained attention with 'Weak Hero' and has joined the ranks of trending actors. During such times, many projects come your way, but he first considers whether he can truly fulfill the role. That's the actor mindset. A star mindset would prioritize maintaining star status through project choices." He further noted, "Ji-hoon is someone who loves acting and the profession of being an actor."
Yoo Ji-tae personally witnessed Park Ji-hoon's dedication. He said, "He lost 15kg for the role. I saw him getting thinner and realized how seriously he was taking his acting. Such dedication is not easy."
'The Man Living with the King' is set to be released on February 4th.
