Actress Jang Hye-jin mentioned Choi Woo-shik.
On the 29th, a press conference for the film 'Number One' (directed by Kim Tae-yong) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul. The event was attended by actors Choi Woo-shik, Jang Hye-jin, Gong Seung-yeon, and director Kim Tae-yong.
The movie 'Number One' tells the story of Ha-min (played by Choi Woo-shik), who begins to see a decreasing number every time he eats his mother's food. He discovers that when the number reaches zero, his mother Eun-sil (played by Jang Hye-jin) will die, prompting him to do everything he can to protect her.
Jang Hye-jin spoke about reuniting with Choi Woo-shik in a mother-son relationship for the first time in seven years since the 2019 release of 'Parasite' (directed by Bong Joon-ho). Jang Hye-jin said, "When I met (Choi) Woo-shik, we were already comfortable with each other, and he took great care of me since 'Parasite.' However, I realized I never really took care of him. While working on 'Number One,' we had many conversations," she shared.
Jang Hye-jin continued, "Choi Woo-shik in the poster really resembles my son. I once told Woo-shik, 'I hope my son grows up to be like you.' Their personalities are quite similar, so acting together was not difficult. I feel grateful for deciding to work with Woo-shik. I'm thankful he came to me for this project."
The film 'Number One' is set to be released on the 11th.
