Park Ji-hyun, a rising star in the trot music scene, has been selected as the main host for MBN's ambitious new program 'K-Trot Chart'.
MBN, known for establishing itself as a 'trot powerhouse' through various audition programs, aims to present an objective indicator of trot charts with 'K-Trot Chart', moving beyond simple competitions. Park Ji-hyun, with her fresh charm and strong fan base, is expected to serve as a bridge between tradition and modernity in this significant journey.
Supporting Park Ji-hyun as a reliable co-host is Song Min-jun. Together, they will lead 'K-Trot Chart', which will adopt a traditional chart format by combining music scores, public judging, and popularity votes to select the most beloved trot songs monthly and by theme. Additionally, the show will serve as a 'gateway' for new singers to introduce themselves to the public by appearing in the studio.
The production team stated, "To maximize the appeal of trot across generations, we have collaborated with 'AllChart', a voting app known for securing a global fan base through shows like 'KBS Music Bank' and 'Sing Again 4', to implement a fair tallying method. This will make the show a platform for K-trot to expand into the global market, engaging with fans." They also have high expectations for the global potential of the two young hosts.
'K-Trot Chart', which will feature a special segment summarizing the monthly trot trends, is set to begin filming in February and will soon reach viewers. Anticipation is high for the unique chemistry and synergy between Park Ji-hyun and Song Min-jun as they step onto the stage as hosts rather than performers.
Currently, the public judging for the '2025 Best Trot Awards', planned as a special broadcast for the first episode, is underway on AllChart.
