Um Ji-won: A Journey of Authenticity and Anticipation in Acting
Um Ji-won's sincere acting philosophy leaves a lasting impression. She debuted in the entertainment industry with the sitcom 'Not Already' in 1998.

On the night of the 24th, KBS 1TV's movie talk show 'Life is a Movie' featured Um Ji-won, who continues to prepare for her best role yet, even after winning the acting award. Her ongoing filmography was highlighted.

The movie talk with '2025 KBS Drama Awards' winner Um Ji-won, MC Um Ji-in, Bong Tae-gyu, Rainer, and Georyeobda provided laughter and emotion throughout the broadcast.

When Bong Tae-gyu asked, "Do you ever get a feeling during filming that you might win an award at the end of the year?" Um Ji-won replied, "I don't think about it because I don't want to get hurt by aiming for awards." She has consistently chosen roles based on character rather than popularity or stardom, showcasing unique characters across various genres and earning the love of many movie fans.

Um Ji-won expressed her affection for the numerous works and characters she has been part of, including her impressive dialect in 'Mutt Boy', her outstanding improvisation in 'Like You Know It All', and her raw sincerity without makeup in 'Hope'.

Film critic Rainer described Um Ji-won as "an actress whose limits are not easily seen," while Georyeobda noted, "Even when she stands out, she doesn't become tiresome." Bong Tae-gyu chose 'Tale of Cinema' as his favorite from her filmography, praising her for showing younger actors "that you can go this way," and commending her for taking on challenging new roles.

Regarding 'Please Take Care of the Eagle Brothers!', which won her the acting award, Um Ji-won said, "The script was fun, and it was a warm story about people," adding that "Gwang-sook's energy is lovable and her wide-ranging concern for others is most similar to me."

Even after winning the acting award, Um Ji-won patiently awaits her next role, expressing excitement and anticipation by saying, "I haven't met the best character yet," and "Someday, a role like Ae-soon will come to me, right?"
