On the 28th, a press conference for KBS 2TV's new weekend drama 'Prescription for Love' was held at The Saint in D-Cube City, Guro-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by actors Jin Se-yeon, Park Ki-woong, Kim Seung-soo, Yoo Ho-jung, Kim Hyung-mook, So Yi-hyun, and director Han Joon-seo.
'Prescription for Love' is a family makeup drama about two families entangled in a 30-year-long feud who eventually reconcile, heal each other's wounds, and become one family.
Jin Se-yeon plays Gong Joo-ah, a fashion designer from the Taehan Group. Jin described her character as "someone who was pressured to enter medical school by her doctor parents but ultimately pursues her true dream of becoming a designer. She is always bright and cheerful."
Regarding her reunion with Park Ki-woong after 14 years since 'Bridal Mask', Jin Se-yeon expressed, "I'm very happy." She added, "During the filming of 'Bridal Mask', I was too young to pay attention to my surroundings. Now, I feel a bit more relaxed, but seeing Ki-woong oppa made me realize I still have a long way to go. He has always taken good care of me, both then and now. Ki-woong oppa is truly a mature and wonderful senior."
Park Ki-woong portrays Yang Hyun-bin, the executive director of Taehan Group's fashion division, who shares a romantic storyline with Jin Se-yeon. Park described his character as "free-spirited and straightforward but deep inside." He added, "After studying abroad in South America, he returns to Korea and reunites with his first love, Gong Joo-ah, facing many challenges."
Park Ki-woong also shared his thoughts on reuniting with Jin Se-yeon, saying, "During 'Bridal Mask', she was so young that I was cautious around her. Meeting again after gaining more experience, we joke around a lot on set and rely on each other during tough times. Her acting has become much more flexible than before."
In the drama, So Yi-hyun plays Cha Se-ri, Hyun-bin's stepmother and the real power in the family. So Yi-hyun described her character as "a former kimchi girl from Dolsan with nothing but her beauty to boast about. She is unfiltered and emotional, which might make her unlikeable, but she is pure and lovely. Please show her lots of love."
So Yi-hyun partners with actor Kim Hyung-mook, who plays Yang Dong-ik. She commented, "Yang Dong-ik is a challenging character, but Kim Hyung-mook is even more so. He is full of energy and very cheerful," she laughed. She also indirectly mentioned her husband, In Gyo-jin, saying, "There's someone similar in my house."
Yoo Ho-jung plays Han Sung-mi, a psychiatrist and the mother of Gong Joo-ah (played by Jin Se-yeon), acting alongside Kim Seung-soo as her husband. Yoo Ho-jung shared, "This is my third time playing a married couple with Kim Seung-soo. We are like a real couple now, making the acting process very comfortable and enjoyable."
Returning to the small screen after 11 years since the 2015 SBS drama 'Heard It Through the Grapevine', Yoo Ho-jung said, "I'm very nervous after such a long time. I chose this project because I thought it could convey warmth." She explained her hiatus, saying, "I wanted to spend time with my children as a mother."
Director Han Joon-seo expressed, "I wanted to create a drama that the whole family can sit down and watch together," adding, "It's an appealing weekend drama that can be enjoyed by both young and older audiences." He continued, "The show contains various emotions, including touching moments and humor. Please show it a lot of interest."
'Prescription for Love' premieres on the 31st at 8 PM.
