Sunjae Monk, known for his appearance on Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2', is set to join Wavve's 'Chefs of the Temple Kitchen'. Recently, 'Black and White Chef 2' gained attention when Chef Lim Sung-geun, a participant, was revealed to have a criminal record for DUI and assault.
Premiering exclusively on Wavve on February 13, 'Chefs of the Temple Kitchen' is a food reality show that follows six master monks of temple cuisine as they prepare and share offerings, highlighting the philosophy and spiritual practice behind the food.
The show features Sunjae Monk, who was a top 7 'White Spoon' contestant on 'Black and White Chef Season 2', and Jeong Kwan Monk, renowned globally from 'Chef's Table', along with master monks Gyeho, Jeokmun, Daean, and Ugwam.
The main poster for 'Chefs of the Temple Kitchen' captures the presence of the six master monks and the show's identity in a warm and delightful manner. The illustration of a large pot and colorful vegetables conveys the simplicity and vitality of temple cuisine, intuitively expressing the meaning of 'cooking together', completing a friendly and warm narrative where 'practice' meets 'cooking'.
As seen in the poster, the full episodes of 'Chefs of the Temple Kitchen', releasing on February 13, will showcase the six master monks coming together for the first time to creatively present temple cuisine in line with global 'vegetarian' and 'vegan' trends. From sharing their food philosophies and naturally bonding, to exploring traditional sauces like gochujang, soy sauce, and doenjang, and serving guests with heartfelt dishes, the series promises a 'taste explosion' with rich episodes featuring the masters' culinary skills.
The Wavve ONLY series 'Chefs of the Temple Kitchen' consists of four episodes, all available on February 13.
