VERIVERY member Kangmin is set to continue his acting journey with a confirmed role in a short-form drama.
Kangmin will star in KITZ's premium short-form drama 'Jump Boy LIVE', which tells the coming-of-age story of a science high school outsider who dreams of becoming an influencer. The character gains teleportation abilities by chance and transforms into a 'live hero'.
In the drama, Kangmin plays the role of Ion, an outsider with no presence at school or on social media. On a night of a meteor shower, he gains teleportation powers from a meteorite fragment he finds during a live broadcast. Ion becomes a mega influencer through his teleportation live streams, navigating unwanted attention and chaos while trying to find his path.
Kangmin is expected to portray Ion's growth narrative, smoothly guiding the drama's flow. His emotional expressiveness and fresh acting skills, honed through stage performances and previous works, are anticipated to bring a new dimension to his acting.
Kangmin made his acting debut in the 2023 web drama 'Snap and Spark', playing the role of Joo Seon-jae, showcasing his potential as a promising new actor.
Kangmin has been actively promoting VERIVERY's fourth single album 'Lost and Found', participating in music shows, serving as a special MC, holding solo fan meetings, and engaging in photo shoots. Recently, he has expanded his global presence with solo fan meetings in Shanghai and Beijing, as well as group fan meetings in Singapore and Kaohsiung.
Additionally, Kangmin's solo fan meeting '2026 Kangmin Fan Meeting: Radiant Times' at Yonsei University's Centennial Memorial Hall in Seoul on January 31 and February 1 sold out immediately upon ticket release. With his diverse activities in music, stage, and acting, anticipation is high for Kangmin's new role in 'Jump Boy LIVE'.
The premium short-form drama 'Jump Boy LIVE', featuring Kangmin, is set to premiere on KITZ in February.
