Actress Park Ha-sun paid tribute to the late actor Ahn Sung-ki.
On the morning of the 5th, SBS PowerFM's 'Park Ha-sun's Cine Town' aired.
The opening of 'Park Ha-sun's Cine Town' featured the song 'Rain and You' from the OST of the movie 'Radio Star,' starring Ahn Sung-ki and Park Joong-hoon.
Park Ha-sun, who hosts the show, mentioned, "I didn't know the news because I was on my way to work," indicating that she learned of Ahn Sung-ki's passing a bit late.
Park Ha-sun expressed, "Recently, with Lee Soon-jae as well, it feels like time is passing by. It's unfortunate." She added, "I was shocked by Ahn Sung-ki's passing. I really wanted to meet him in person, and it's a shame," conveying her condolences.
Ahn Sung-ki passed away at 9 a.m. at the age of 74. Last December 30th, he collapsed at home during a meal when food got stuck in his throat. He was transported to a nearby hospital's emergency room after receiving CPR but never regained consciousness despite being treated in the ICU.
He had been battling blood cancer until his death. Diagnosed in 2019, he was declared cancer-free in 2020 after treatment, but the disease relapsed six months later during follow-up.
His funeral will be held as a film industry funeral, organized by the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation and the Korean Film Actors Association. Honorary funeral committee members include Shin Young-kyun, director Bae Chang-ho, Korean Film Actors Association Chairman Lee Gap-sung, Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation Acting Director Shin Eon-sik, and Korean Film Association Chairman Yang Yoon-ho. Additionally, actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung will serve as pallbearers. The wake is set up at Room 31 of the Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Funeral Hall, with the funeral service scheduled for 6 a.m. on the 9th. The burial site is Byeolgeurida in Yangpyeong.
