Young-sik from the 22nd season of 'I Am Solo' has announced his remarriage.
The YouTube channel 'Village Chief Entertainment TV,' operated by the production team of SBS PLUS's 'I Am Solo,' released a video sharing the joyous news.
In the video, Young-sik revealed not only his remarriage but also the exciting news of expecting a second child. He candidly shared the psychological struggles he faced after appearing on the show. Young-sik recalled that he did not form a couple during the 22nd season and faced rejection and criticism from participants in the subsequent show 'Nasol Four Seasons,' leading to a challenging period.
Young-sik admitted that during this time, he turned to alcohol and doubted he would ever marry again, even regretting his decision to appear on the show.
However, it was the proactive interest of his fiancée that changed everything. She found Young-sik's appearance to be her ideal type and, despite not usually being the one to initiate contact, felt she would regret it for life if she didn't reach out to him. This was the first time she had ever contacted a man first.
Interestingly, Young-sik's future mother-in-law, a devoted fan of 'I Am Solo,' encouraged her daughter to meet him after being impressed by his on-screen persona. Initially skeptical of his fiancée's admiration for his looks, Young-sik hesitated to meet her but was moved by her genuine affection once they met.
The couple proudly announced their marriage and that they are 19 weeks into the pregnancy. Young-sik shared that their second daughter is due in May next year, and contrary to his expectations, he feels even more joy and excitement than he did with his first child. He emphasized that his fiancée's sincere care for his first daughter solidified his decision to marry her.
Young-sik also shared the family's reaction to the pregnancy news. Initially, he kept it a secret, fearing it might shock his first daughter. However, she is now eagerly anticipating her sibling's arrival, asking daily when the baby will be born. Young-sik expressed his gratitude for his family's warm response, saying he was so moved he was brought to his knees.
His fiancée, who is single and has no children, stated that Young-sik's past as a divorcee with a child was not a barrier for her, emphasizing that personality and character were more important. Young-sik and his fiancée plan to marry on January 10, 2026.
