On the evening of the 30th, the '2025 MBC Drama Awards' took place at the MBC Media Center Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The ceremony was hosted by broadcaster Kim Sung-joo and actress Lee Sun-bin.
IU and Byeon Woo-seok, who are set to star in the upcoming drama 'Perfect Crown,' appeared together as presenters for the 'Drama of the Year' award. IU shared, "We've been meeting often for drama shoots lately, and since it's set against a constitutional monarchy, we often meet in extravagant costumes. Today, I feel like we've put in extra effort."
Byeon Woo-seok expressed, "It's my first time at the MBC Drama Awards, and I'm so nervous that I tried to be more formal. How do I look? Is it okay?" IU responded, "You look especially dashing today, like a grand prince." Byeon Woo-seok added with a smile, "Ji-eun, you look even more beautiful today."
IU mentioned, "I wore a horse hairpin today. Next year is the Year of the Horse, and I hope it brings good energy to the viewers. I wish everyone an early Happy New Year." She continued, "This is my first time greeting you through an MBC drama, and I hope you will enjoy our drama when it airs next year."
IU further explained about 'Perfect Crown,' saying, "Woo-seok and I are working hard on filming. It's a story about destiny and breaking social status, set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in Korea. I play Seong Hee-joo, a chaebol who has everything but feels frustrated by her lack of status."
Byeon Woo-seok introduced his character, "I play Lee An, a prince who is sad because he can't have anything despite being the king's son." Finally, IU expressed her hopes, "I wish 'Perfect Crown' could be nominated for 'Drama of the Year' at next year's awards," and Byeon Woo-seok pledged, "I'll do my best in filming to make that happen."
