Kang Tae-oh and Kim Se-jeong from 'Moon River' have been awarded the Best Couple at the '2025 MBC Drama Awards'.
The event took place on the evening of the 30th at the MBC Media Center in Sangam, Seoul, hosted by Kim Sung-joo and Lee Sun-bin.
The Best Couple award, chosen by viewer votes, went to the 'Moon River' couple, Kang Tae-oh (born in 1994) and Kim Se-jeong (born in 1996). The duo captivated audiences with their perfect chemistry in a unique storyline involving soul exchange.
In her acceptance speech, Kim Se-jeong expressed, "After the drama ended, I was asked in an interview if I wanted to win the Best Couple award, and I honestly said yes. I'm grateful to the staff who captured us beautifully and to the viewers who voted for us."
She continued, "I wanted to say this as soon as I woke up today. I could achieve 'Moon River' because of Kang Tae-oh. He is like a honeybee to me. While I stayed still, he came up with ideas and turned it into a flower field. He's a sweet and wonderful actor. I was so happy to work with him. I hope we can be called a couple again, even without the hanbok."
Kang Tae-oh shared, "I'm very grateful to the fans who loved the 'Moon River' couple. It's my first time winning the Best Couple award, and I understand why many desire it." He added, "The energy with your partner on set is crucial, and it seems to be reflected in the work."
He also humorously responded, "It's not just words; I received a lot of good energy from Kim Se-jeong and learned a lot. She described me as a honeybee, but I feel like I received a lot of honey."
