OMEGA X's Hwichan Cleared of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Former Agency Executive
Hwichan, a member of the group OMEGA X, has been cleared of allegations of sexual assault against a former executive of his previous agency. On the 11th, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office decided not to indict Hwichan due to insufficient evidence.

Hwichan's current agency, IPQ, released an official statement on the 11th, announcing that the criminal case involving OMEGA X member Hwichan has been concluded with a 'no charges' decision by the prosecution.

According to IPQ, on March 19, 2024, OMEGA X's former agency, Spire Entertainment, held a press conference to announce a criminal complaint against Hwichan for sexual assault.

At the time, Spire presented CCTV footage as evidence, but the released video was only a partial edit, and the full original footage was never disclosed.

IPQ and Hwichan consistently requested the submission and verification of the complete original CCTV footage through investigative agencies from the beginning of the case. However, according to IPQ, the original CCTV footage was never submitted or verified throughout the police investigation and the entire investigative process.

After approximately 1 year and 10 months of investigation, the prosecution decided on the 11th not to indict Hwichan due to a lack of objective and credible evidence to substantiate the allegations. This decision clarifies that the allegations do not legally hold.

IPQ stated, "Hwichan has suffered severe social stigma and mental distress due to the false allegations for an extended period, and the damage extended to former OMEGA X members and their families."

Despite the non-indictment decision, a former executive of Spire Entertainment has indicated plans for further legal actions, such as filing an objection. In response, IPQ expressed regret, stating, "It is regrettable that the already concluded matter by the investigative agency is being repeatedly raised, causing further distress to the artist and the entire group."

IPQ emphasized, "We clearly state that Hwichan did not commit any criminal acts," and added, "We hope that distorted claims and malicious issues will not be repeated." Furthermore, IPQ stated, "We will continue to review and respond firmly with all necessary legal measures to protect the honor and rights of our artists."

Meanwhile, Hwichan debuted with the group LIMITLESS in 2019 and re-debuted as a member of OMEGA X in 2021. This year marks their 4th anniversary. He began his military service as a social service worker in July last year and is scheduled to be discharged on April 3, 2026.
