Actor Jo Jin-woong Erased from Social Media Following Admission of Past Crimes
Actor Jo Jin-woong (49, real name Jo Won-jun) has announced his retirement after admitting to serious crimes committed during his youth. In response, his agency has removed all traces of him from their official social media accounts.

On October 8, it was confirmed by TenAsia that all posts related to Jo Jin-woong have been deleted from the official Instagram account of his agency, Saram Entertainment.

Previously, Jo's posts were located in the second row from the top. Now, a post featuring the agency's CEO giving a speech has taken its place.

Jo's photos were present on the account until the agency released an official statement on October 5. It appears they were removed following the announcement.

Netizens have noticed the deletion. Comments on recent posts include remarks such as "They deleted all of Jo Jin-woong's photos," "Please make sure he never appears on TV again," and "Let's be human."

On October 5, a media outlet reported that Jo was involved in serious crimes during his high school years, resulting in juvenile detention. Sources claimed he was part of a delinquent group involved in car theft and sexual assault, spending a significant portion of his third year in a correctional facility.

In response, Saram Entertainment confirmed, "After checking with the actor, we have confirmed there were wrongful actions during his youth." However, they clarified, "We want to make it clear that he was not involved in any sexual assault activities."

On October 6, Jo Jin-woong announced through his agency, "I humbly accept all criticism and have decided to end my acting career. I believe this is the right responsibility and duty I must bear for my past mistakes."
