Actor Lee Junho recently shared his thoughts on establishing his own agency.
In a recent interview at a café in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, Lee Junho, who stars in tvN's 'Taepung Sangsa,' discussed his experiences.
'Taepung Sangsa' is a drama set during the 1997 IMF crisis, depicting the growth of Kang Tae-pung (played by Lee Junho), a novice businessman who becomes the president of a struggling trading company with no employees, money, or products to sell. The show started with a 5.9% viewership rating and concluded with its highest rating of 10.3%, maintaining the top spot in TV buzz rankings by FUNdex throughout its airing.
On leaving JYP Entertainment after 17 years to establish his own agency, O3 Collective, Lee Junho reflected on his new role as a company president, similar to his character Kang Tae-pung. He stated, "I realized that doing things like Tae-pung is not easy. While I agree that people are the most important, there were moments when I thought, 'There was no other choice,' even if it seemed frustrating to viewers." He added, "I felt that Tae-pung's unique way of doing things was like an inheritance from his father, and I wanted to learn from that."
Lee Junho also candidly discussed his approach to running his company. He emphasized, "Although it may appear as a one-person agency, I don't intend to work alone. If there are good opportunities and like-minded people, I plan to gradually expand."
