Singer and JYP Entertainment's head producer, Park Jin-young, has once again demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy by donating 1 billion KRW (approximately $750,000) this year to support children in need both domestically and internationally. This marks a total of 4 billion KRW (around $3 million) donated from his personal funds over the past four years, from 2022 to 2025, as a way to give back the love he has received from the public.
The funds, sourced from Park's personal wealth, have been allocated to Gachon University Gil Medical Center, Konyang University Hospital, and Seoul National University Children's Hospital, each receiving 200 million KRW. Additionally, 400 million KRW has been donated to World Vision to aid children in Mexico and Brazil, as well as to support recovery efforts in Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka following recent natural disasters.
Park Jin-young's consistent generosity has made him a role model in promoting a culture of giving. Over his 30-year career, he has remained a beloved figure in the music industry, using his influence to lead by example. JYP Entertainment has also contributed significantly, donating 1.714 billion KRW this year alone through the EDM (Every Dream Matters) medical support initiative, saving countless children's lives. Since 2020, JYP has donated a total of 7.92 billion KRW, helping over 3,000 children worldwide.
On December 4th, a donation ceremony was held at JYP's headquarters in Seoul, where Park Jin-young, along with key figures such as Kim Woo-kyung, Director of Gachon University Gil Medical Center, and Na Yoon-chul, Head of World Vision's Sharing Business Division, gathered to highlight the significance of the donation.
Park expressed his hopes, saying, "I wish for all children, who have limitless potential to change the world, to be able to dream freely and grow up healthy. I hope the donations reach those in need and are used transparently. With my two daughters in mind, I am deeply moved by the children who receive treatment. JYP, our artists, and I will continue to work hard to support those in need."
Since 2002, Park Jin-young and JYP have been actively involved in charitable activities, starting with annual charity concerts at Samsung Medical Center. In 2019, they formalized their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) efforts under the slogan "Every Dream Matters!" The initiatives include the EDM medical support project, the EDM wish fulfillment project for children with incurable diseases, and the "Love Earth" eco-friendly project.
