Veteran actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo sheds tears over her daughter's sacrifice in the fight to reclaim her husband's land.
On the 3rd, Sunwoo Yong-yeo's YouTube channel 'Sunpung Sunwoo Yong-yeo' featured a video titled "81-Year-Old Sunwoo Yong-yeo's Secret to Looking 40 Years Younger (A Must-Follow!)."
In the video, Sunwoo candidly shared her family's hidden past as she prepares to publish her book. "My son asked, 'Mom, why didn't you include the story about our land being taken?'" she recalled, unable to hide her bitterness.
The incident, where her husband lost land valued at approximately 20 billion KRW due to a failed guarantee, was a significant shock to the family. Sunwoo revealed, "My husband fought in court for 15 years before he passed away. Talking about it makes me sad, so I held back," she said, pausing to collect herself.
She also spoke about her daughter, Choi Yeon-je, and her sacrifices. "My daughter earned a tremendous amount of money during her 8-year singing career, enough to buy two buildings in Gangnam," Sunwoo said. "She performed at 7 to 8 events a day, but she never resented the money spent on her father's legal battles. She said it was okay because it was for her father," Sunwoo added, tearing up over her daughter's selflessness.
Sunwoo further shared, "My daughter never wore designer clothes. She only wore second-hand clothes and never experienced wearing new ones."
