The Netflix animated series 'KPop Demon Hunters' made a splash at the '2025 MAMA Awards' with the appearance of the idol group HUNTR/X.
On the 29th, the '2025 MAMA Awards' took place at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. During the ceremony, the fictional girl group HUNTR/X from the series came to life on stage. Members Pharita, Ahyeon, and Rora from the group BABYMONSTER delivered a stunning performance of 'GOLDEN'.
Actor Ahn Hyo-seop, who voices the male protagonist Jinu in the series, added depth to the performance with his narration. He stated, "Do you remember this voice? You helped me reclaim my soul," followed by, "May music guide us to a better tomorrow."
However, the anticipated joint performance with the boy group Saja Boys was canceled. Due to the group's concept inspired by the Grim Reaper, it was deemed inappropriate in light of the recent fire disaster in Hong Kong. Saja Boys was set to feature Shinyu from TWS, Park Gun-wook and Han Yu-jin from ZEROBASEONE, Leehan from BOYNEXTDOOR, and Wonbin from RIIZE.
'KPop Demon Hunters' was honored with the 'Music Visionary of the Year' award, recognizing its global impact as a content powerhouse. This award is given to icons who understand and shape the direction of K-pop.
