Kang Tae-poong, played by Lee Jun-ho, was moved to tears upon discovering a promissory note left by his father, Kang Jin-young, portrayed by Sung Dong-il.
In the episode of tvN's 'Taepung Corporation' aired on the 29th, Kang Tae-poong was shown resigning from his position as president of 'Taepung Corporation' and leaving the company.
On this day, Kang Tae-poong visited the company of Bae Song-joong's father and discovered CCTV cameras. Seeing the boxes of surveillance cameras, Kang Tae-poong asked, "I like it. Which country buys the most?"
During his visit, Pyo Hyun-joon, played by Moo Jin-sung, and his group stormed the company, attempting to pack computers and company items into boxes, leading to a physical altercation with the staff. Kang Tae-poong confidently stated, "You borrowed first and didn't repay," to which Pyo Hyun-joon retorted, "Do you have proof? You're selfish. If you just disappear, the people outside will be safe."
To save the employees, Kang Tae-poong decided to resign, leaving the weight of the presidency behind. Before leaving, he signed a contract with Bae Song-joong's father's company. Kang Tae-poong handed over the signed approval to Oh Mi-sun, saying, "I signed it before 5 o'clock."
Kang Tae-poong waited for the right moment while working in packaging at Dabontek, Bae Song-joong's father's company. However, due to Pyo Hyun-joon's scheme, the company failed to meet the promissory note's maturity date, leading to bankruptcy.
Kang Tae-poong and Bae Song-joong's father pleaded with the bank president, "Please help us just this once," but the bank president harshly replied, "It's companies like yours that ruin the country. Know your place." Kang Tae-poong retorted, "At least run your bank operations properly until closing time."
The last hope to save Taepung Corporation was finding the promissory note left by his father, Kang Jin-young. Late at night, Kang Tae-poong and Oh Mi-sun searched Pyo Hyun-joon's office, and Kang Tae-poong couldn't hide his anger upon seeing his father's nameplate. At that moment, Cha Sun-taek, played by Kim Jae-hwa, also came to search the president's office, and as they tried to escape together, they were attacked by Pyo Hyun-joon's company staff, leading to another physical confrontation.
In a tense situation, thanks to the quick thinking of Go Ma-jin, played by Lee Chang-hoon, and the staff, all Taepung Corporation employees managed to escape safely. While fleeing the CEO's office, Kang Tae-poong dropped his father's nameplate, discovering the promissory note hidden inside.
Reading the words on the promissory note, Kang Tae-poong said, "Creditor Kang Jin-young, Debtor Pyo Bak-ho. It's the promissory note. I found it. I've come full circle. It was always by my side," and he embraced Oh Mi-sun, played by Kim Min-ha, in tears.
