Actor Heo Sung-tae Reflects on Leaving Corporate Job for Acting Dream

Actor Heo Sung-tae opened up about his long period of anonymity after leaving a major corporation.

On the 21st episode of MBN and Channel S's 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 3', actors Heo Sung-tae and Jo Bok-rae made an appearance.

During the broadcast, Heo Sung-tae shared his past decision to give up a high-paying, stable job to pursue his dream of acting.

Heo revealed, "I left a major corporation at the age of 35. My salary wasn't small," but he couldn't give up on his dream. He added, "I've done all sorts of jobs, from substitute driving to loading and unloading deliveries, and even assembling toys." He quit his job just six months after getting married. He reminisced about his anonymous days, saying, "I went around auditioning and distributing my profile."

Listening to this, Jeon Hyun-moo, Kwak Tube, and Jo Bok-rae admired Heo Sung-tae's courageous choice, commenting, "His wife, who endured those years with him, is remarkable."

Previously, Heo Sung-tae expressed gratitude to his family for supporting him during his anonymous years in interviews. He stated, "There were years when my monthly income was not in the thousands. Thanks to my wife, family, and mother, I endured," revealing that it was his family that helped him withstand five years of anonymity.
