Actress Han Hye-jin expressed her gratitude towards her brother-in-law, Kim Kang-woo, on the KBS 2TV show 'New Release Pyeonstorang' aired on the 21st.
On this episode, Kim Kang-woo, known as the 'Nation's Brother-in-law,' dedicated 40 hours to make 100 bagels for his youngest sister-in-law, Han Hye-jin. He aimed to create a simple yet nutritious sandwich, starting with a black bean cream cheese bagel. The process involved boiling 8kg of black beans and mixing 10kg of cream cheese, which led him to pause filming due to wrist pain. He also personally prepared 100 servings of ham, spending 35 hours on ingredient preparation and a total of 40 hours to complete the task.
Previously, Han Hye-jin shared on 'Healing Camp' how Kim Kang-woo stayed by her family's side during her father's funeral, earning him the title of 'Nation's Brother-in-law.' She expressed her gratitude, saying, "I wondered how such a person came into our family. I was very thankful."
Kim Kang-woo humbly responded, "I don't think 'Nation's Brother-in-law' suits me. It's not to the extent of having 'Nation' attached to it. It's just something I do for my parents, and I don't think it's special. You shouldn't attach 'Nation' to just anything. Maybe just 'Brother-in-law from Bangbae-dong'?"
Receiving the heartfelt coffee truck and 100 bagels, Han Hye-jin expressed her surprise and gratitude through a video call, saying, "I received it well. I was surprised. You worked hard making 100 of them. You could start a business." Kim Kang-woo ended the call by showing his caring side, saying, "I need to cook for your sister."
Han Hye-jin described Kim Kang-woo as someone who is always on the move, taking care of family matters. She shared, "When the filming location was near my father's grave, he went to take care of it. I was very thankful. I'm grateful he married my eldest sister. His dedication to family is admirable, and I'm always thankful."
Finally, as a senior in variety shows, she advised him, "You've brightened up, but let go even more. That's what variety shows are about. Show more of your charm," bringing laughter to the conversation.
